It's the same here in South Africa. Divorce among the JW is very high.

Divorce rates among JWs higher?
by AK - Jeff indo you believe that divorce rates among jw's is higher or lower than the averages now?.
in the us - at least recently - it was said that about 50% of all marriages will end in divorce.. for decades as a jw - i believed that jw's were immune from this statistic.
among the older married couples divorce seemed almost unheard of - and still, among the older crowd, that holds true i believe.

Birthdays and Job
by emptywords inthe societys stance on birthdays is either blatantly a lie, or a lack of bible knowledge on the part of the governing body!
while still attending at the kingdom hall i read job 1:4 where jobs childreneach had celebrations in his own day.
then read in job after his kids died and all his possession were lost where job cursed his own day.

It's just anotherway that the WBTS make the rank and file feel unworthy. We receive undersered kindness from Jah and we are not worthy enough to celebrate our birthday. We are not worthy enough to receive gifts from friends and family to celebrate being alive! What a lot of bs.

Same thing happened to us. When the False Religion tract was been handed out we saw the JW walking up our street. We couldn't wait for them to knock at the door so we could ask them a few questions. The youg man knocked gave his presentation my husband replied "Oh good we've heard about this tract and were wondering when we would get our copy." He smiled said thank you and left as fast as possible. I could not believe it. If a householder reacted like that when I was still putting in time I would have been happy to chat. Seems like they would rather just place whatever they have and run.

by ladyofsmiles ini am a disfellowshipped j.w.
single mom that needs a ride cause i have to walk with a stroller with my 4 yr. old toddler to the oakland congreations on oakland st. this is a very dangerous area of the city and because its blocks away from frankford ave. and lights and stores we could be attacked.
please email me at: [email protected] if you are going to the same hall and also trying to be reinstated.

Hi Ladyofsmiles. Welcome to the forum. Most of the people here were very hurt by the witnesses and are trying to move on with their lives. Some have realised that you can have a relationship with God without the influence of the WBTS. I hope you find happiness and unconditional love. Help when you need it instead of been told your too bad to be part of a group.

I'm starting to really get into the New Testament. This is great!
by MichaelM instuff i never really touched much when i was a studying with the witnesses.
i'm in awe.. amazed.. at the things jesus is saying/doing.. some of it is even putting me in tears.
one chapter that i really love so far is i'm in luke and i'm reading about the woman who came into the pharisee's home and started kissing jesus' feet and jesus told the story of the two people that owed money.

It really is great when you read the bible without someone telling you what you should read into it. Enjoy.

Why do KH's not have any windows?
by jibberish inwhat is the real reason why kingdum halls don't have windows?
to people on the outside looking in that is just too wierd and very cult like like they have something to hide.
wasn't in the 80's when they started to build them without windows?
-
Mrs Smith
All the KH in South Africa have windows cause it's a building regulation. I think it's to cut costs. I don't think it was part of the mind control freaky stuff, just about good old money.

"I'm going to Tar and Feather you two"
by whyamihere ini swear to god, i've gone absolutely insane!.
my kids!
will the fighting stop?

My two are EXACTLY the same!! Do you want to swop kids for a while maybe they'll behave if they are not with their own parents? People always tell me how well behaved my kids are. I wouldn't know cause they sure are litlle #@$%&* with me. What's the age difference between yours? My son is turning 14 in Aug and my daughter is 9. I told my son I was going to put him up for auction on e-bay the other day.
